Why I Started SparrowFit

With over 35 years of experience in the fitness industry, I’ve had the privilege of training everyone from complete beginners to elite athletes. One of my greatest passions has been mentoring others, helping hundreds of personal trainers throughout their careers to go beyond just writing effective programs. I teach them the importance of truly adding value, showing clients their untapped potential and what they’re truly capable of. Because when someone sees themselves as capable, it’s transformational.

For me, training is about impact. It’s about igniting that fire within each person. We all have it – it may be dimmed, but it’s there. My mission is to turn that fire all the way up, helping you see the strength, resilience, and determination you didn’t know you had.

I specialise in event preparation for challenges like Tough Mudder, True Grit, Spartan, and Fire, Police, and Defence Force entry. I’ve developed proven methods that build the mental and physical strength these demanding goals require. Throughout my career, small group training and Bootcamps have been a cornerstone of what I do, creating spaces where teamwork, empowerment, and connection thrive.

My Approach to Fitness

After stepping back from personal training during COVID, I took time to reflect on what matters most to me: unity, self-worth, adaptability, resilience, confidence, empowerment, and joy. I realised my work wasn’t just about fitness; it was about helping people rediscover themselves and step into their limitless potential.

When clients first come to me, they often have a limited view of what they’re capable of, focusing on fat loss or strength. But I see their potential. I challenge them from day one, never boxing them in as a “beginner.” Hard work, bold goals, and unshakable belief in their possibilities are at the core of my approach. Watching them break through barriers, grow in confidence, and step into their power is the most rewarding part of what I do.

The name “SparrowFit” is deeply personal. Sparrows have appeared in my life and dreams for years. When I explored their symbolism, I knew I’d found my calling. Sparrows represent staying on course, resilience, unity, and the quiet strength we often overlook. They remind us that incredible power can come in small forms.

Who can join SparrowFit Bootcamps?

Anyone aged 16 and above is welcome, regardless of fitness experience. The exercises are adapted to suit your individual needs.

For participants aged 16 or 17, parental or guardian consent is required prior to attending the sessions. 

I incorporate a variety of functional training equipment, including slam balls, weighted balls, battle ropes, kettlebells, tires, sandbags, TRX, powerbands, barbells, plates, and booty bands.

For boxing bootcamps, I utilise boxing gloves, focus pads, skipping ropes, and kick shields. Inners and wraps are also available for purchase during the session.

Yes, I plan to add more timeslots as demand grows to better accommodate everyone’s schedules.

Each session typically lasts 45 – 60 minutes, depending on the group and drills.

Wear comfortable workout clothing, supportive runners, bring a water bottle, and a mat.

Bookings are essential as the sessions are capped at 10 participants and designed around the specific needs of those attending.

Yes, you can! I’ve made the pricing affordable to ensure there are no excuses for achieving results because fitness should be accessible to everyone. For those ready to commit, I’ve created a membership option that’s even more cost-effective, with just 7 days’ notice required to cancel. For added flexibility, I also offer session passes that have no expiry, so you can return whenever you’re ready if life gets in the way. Many participants use bootcamps to supplement their regular fitness routines, and our non-expiring passes eliminate pressure, letting you work out on your own schedule.

You can cancel or reschedule your session up to 1 hour before it starts through the booking system. I’ve set this policy to accommodate those unexpected last-minute changes, but please be considerate—each session is limited to just 10 spots, so your cancellation could open a spot for someone else.

Yes! Casual single sessions are $20. There is also an introductory trial package of 3 sessions for $30.
